Overwhelming Heat

I am sure there have been times in my life where I have experienced weather like this. But I cannot remember them. Since my return Monday, the temperatures here have topped 100 degrees each day. Combine that with incredibly high humidity and working, even walking or being outdoors, is an incredible chore. Keeping my team well hydrated and cool has been a full time job in and of itself. But we have yet to have an illness or issues from the heat. We still have a total of four health and safety officers onsite between all the contractors. They are doing an amazing job of keeping us all working well.

I find myself everyday thinking about where I have been and where I want to go. Both at work (thought they were going to send me to Puerto Rico today) and at home (where my life is in a great state of transition). Right now everything seems so clouded and I am desperately seeking answers. I do not want to go into details about any of this - I have learned through experience and failure to keep most things to myself. However, what I do ask is for your prayers. I have no idea how many people, if any, still read this blog. I have become quite irregular in posting and my posts have tended to ramble a bit. But if you can do this for me, please do. And not prayer like Jaron and the long road to love (that song I'll pray for you cracks me up, but its not what I am looking for.) Just a little prayer for me. He knows the need. Thanks you and I will pray for you all as well.

A Roller Coaster of a Christmas Miracle

Well, I woke up Sunday Morning............... Hey that sounds like a great first line of a song But Tiffany and I got up extra early because she wanted to hit the grocery store before it was packed. So we did, then went to breakfast at Frisch's, all before 8 am. When we got home we woke Tanner up, and we all got ready for church. Right around 9, my phone rang. Ugh, work. Need to dispatch a team to Buckeye Lake. Took a few minutes and got them dispatched, hung up, and it rang again. Another job, in West Virginia. I wound up being on the phone until 9:30, and we needed to get out the door as Little Red was scheduled to work the Guest Services desk at Centerpoint for both Christmas Eve services. The Finger of God

Have you ever seen the movie Twister? Released in 1996 and starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton, the movie followed a group of storm chasers as they got caught up in a harrowing day of following and escaping tornadoes. It was considered cutting edge for the way it depicted the funnel clouds and the scientists who do this everyday. Little did I know how, 24 years later, my work would bring me to a place in Middle Tennessee where real life imitated art, and my latest clients would be grateful to have escaped with their lives. Their story in just a moment. First, I would be remiss if I did not mention the passing of an old friend recently.
